How do I get a slot for an audition?
Due to the number of comedians seeking stage time in Los Angeles, we have a process from which we select performers to Audition.
We have Audition Nights featuring 15 comedians selected from their submitted audition videos. Audition night gives a comedian 5 minutes to present their set in front of a live studio audience.
The Comedy Ward shoots our Headline show featuring 6 comics doing a 15-minute set.
in order to apply for a slot on Auditions night, you should follow these three simple steps:
- Send us an email at auditions@thecomedyward.com with your complete contact information: First/Last Name, email address, Phone/Text number so that we can contact you via email and text. It is also helpful if you have links to any social media or personal websites we may review as well.
- Include an attached video clip containing your 5-minute set for our review. This can be anything simple from shooting on a cellphone, or an iPad , or a link to something you have posted on YouTube, or Vimeo, or anywhere we can review it. You can also send us a link to Dropbox, Usendit, or any other way in which we can download and review your audition clip. It doesn’t have to be of any particular quality as long as we can see and hear your set.
- Please review our Guidelines to ensure that your material fits the Family Friendly program format. It is an involved process to produce, edit and mix these programs, so we are serious about you and your material. We don’t bleep, so we want it straight from the start. Thanks so much for the effort.
From these auditions our panel selects the top 3 comedians to be eligible to appear on our weekly syndicated program ‘The Comedy Ward.’
